Oscars 2019: all the nominated movies

There were few surprises during this year’s Oscar nomination ceremony, but at least one film made Oscar’s history.

Black Panther is nominated for Best Picture, making it the first superhero movie to ever earn the best photo wink. The Dark Knight was not voted best picture in 2009. It is considered to be one of the greatest snubs of the ceremony. So it is fitting that a superhero movie is finally due a decade later. The film also picked up sound editing, sound mix and costume designs.

Like the Golden Globes, movies like Vice, The Favorite, Bohemian Rhapsody and Green Book have also picked up their fair share of the nominations. Both Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz deserve actresses in a supporting role for their favorite work, and Olivia Colman also earned a nomination for actress in a leading role in her film work. Rami Malek traced an actor in a leading role drunk for his work in the Freddy Mercury Biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.
